You can't just dive right into something when you feel you are lost and don't have the necessary mindset to even make the smallest changes in your life. Yes, but doing what you described takes a certain mentality. Tldr “The Compound Effect”, “Discipline Equals Freedom”, and “Start with Why”. I’m sorry if anything I say is too presumptuous and “just do it!” sounding. For this I’d recommend Start with Why by Simon Sinek. There might not be a definite answer right away but you can infer from your motivations what type of work or skills you most want to pursue. But think about what you dreamt of doing as a child, as a teenager, as someone in their 20’s. You might say, I don’t want to do anything! I’m lazy and can’t get myself to do anything. Truly think about your purpose, or the things you want to do. For this I’d recommend Discipline Equals Freedom by Jocko Willick. This will develop your sense of things that are physically hard and your sense of physical discipline, as well as help you stave off the cages of depression. Workout 3-5 times a week, could be walking, but could be body-intensive exercise. (High Performance Habits is a good follow-up). They shape your day and help you evaluate it. It’s important to understand and gain control of habits and routines as you wake up and before you go to sleep. Now think about that for a moment!) I’d recommend The Compound Effect by Darren Wilson as a start. And that all starts with smaller habits, realizing that you have to schedule time or else you’ll waste time, and realizing everything you need is already within yourself (but not one person is self-made. Don’t wait for us to give you a book, be a voracious reader that will stop at nothing to get the lessons you need to change your life. I think for now, setting a higher standard is the way for you to go.
